Introduction


The bluebot device is powered by a dedicated 10-foot power cable, more specifically a USB-C to standard USA 110VAC power outlet. Due to the power requirements of the Transit-Time Ultrasonic technology used in bluebot, a dedicated power supply is required over batteries. In the future, we are looking into a large battery pack and solar trickle charger--stay tuned.  In addition, dedicated power is better for long-term property management and requires less maintenance. 

Depending on your property and accessibility to power you may need to run a simple extension cord to bring power to bluebot.


If your bluebot will not power up, first confirm the USB-C cable is plugged into wall power and the male end is plugged into the bluebot firmly.

What is the voltage rating?


Answer: Common USA plug outlet, 110VAC


Does the bluebot have a battery?


Answer: No, The bluebot does not have an internal battery or battery system.  Bluebot does have a small battery inside used to manage firmware shutdown and restart processes during power outages.



Does the bluebot record data when the power goes out?


Answer: No, the bluebot requires constant power for operation. 


Can I power bluebot with an extension cord?


Answer: Yes! If bluebot is installed outside, assure the cord is rated for outdoor use. Plug the power cable into the extension cord and you're good to go!


Can I use my own USB-C to 110VAC cord


Answer: No, USB-C plug was designed to plug in firmly (hard press) into the socket on bluebot for an added layer of weather protection.  You can order another 10' cable directly from bluebot.
